Social Media used for Spreading Good and Networking

Why Instagram and other social networks

selling through social media

Instagram is a photo and short video sharing social network. It was founded in 2010 by software engineer Michel Krieger and computer programmer and former Google-employee Kevin Systrom. Within just shy of two years of operation, it was sold to Facebook for $1 billion. By June 2018, the platform had hit 1 billion monthly active users.

With the rise in video editing (reels) and stories, the app became a place for small business owners to share their story and sell their products to locals and around the world using Meta (formerly Facebook) and their ability to keep users active and engaged.

Social Media gets a bad rep for the constant and mindless scrolling liking, swiping, sharing, commenting, and messaging. In fact, nearly half of the world's population actively use social media today.

With these key takeaways in mind, using social media mindfully and in a disciplined way is in essence sharing your portfolio to your buyers and helping build trust with your brand.

Here are 3 ways I use social media to spread good and build long lasting relationships:

remember your why mantra

Use Quotes to Speak your Truth

In the past 2 years, after revamping my website to work with 'hell yes' people , the result is an aligned, safe and healthy space where we can grow creative and kind relationships with people who believe in our vision too.

Sharing quotes that align with my values have created a connection with my audience and I love it when comments and shares also show what they value.   Psst... that's how I get to know you too!

behind the scenes crafter life

Share Behind the Scenes with your audience

Have you watched videos or shows of how something is made?  Aren't they the coolest thing? I love watching behind the scene videos that capture my attention and helps me learn more about the maker/ business owner.  Nothing says more genuine than a video of you doing the work.

tell your story

Tell a Story that goes Beyond what is shown in a Grid or Video

We learn by passing stories from one person to another.  A beautiful photo or video captured is great but the story behind what is seen or shown means so much.  We all have a story to tell and to connect so why not use this powerful tool to share who you are and why we should choose you?
